The Old Gaffers would like to thank all of you for your continued support and encouragement throughout the last year, postponing gigs rather than cancelling, purchasing cds etc. your good wishes have been like a beacon and kept us going throughout this stormy voyage.
As the light has now been switched on at the end of the tunnel, we are looking forward to getting back together to start practising again.
Bookings have started to wash up on our shore again, and we anticipate several more with every turn of the tide. we hope to see you in some exotic port, or any other drink. Privateer.
Due to the current situation, regrettably, all our pre booked gigs are cancelled. At the moment, The next one still on is in October.
We’re Doing a bit of smuggling in poldark’s harbour, on Sunday
Singing at the harbour festival as a cover aboard the Grayhound. Come and visit 20 ships in the harbour festival.
We’re all going west again over the border (not a hard one)off to perform at a wedding near Tintagel, what a start to married life. Mummy are there such things as perfect men? Of course there are dear, their called shanty singers😎😎
A wonderful successful evening singing to a packed house, in Dorchester
A great event in aid of the Dorset air ambulance.
Thanks to all of you who came and got transported from Mayflower steps, or more accurately the giant shrimp / sea monster thing, a wonderful afternoon, with no wind and wall to wall sunshine, and it wasn’t bad in the pub afterwards either.
Off to Plymouth to sing at the Mayflower steps, a historic site in Plymouth on Sunday 21st at 1300hrs. Hope to see you there, bring some sunshine🌞
Another successful trip to “forrin parts”, a most satisfying and rewarding trip to Harwich. All the crew got to share in the bounty; the trip was made even more pleasurable by the very friendly natives and other assorted rogues and scallywags.
Unfortunately one of our crew managed to jump ship whilst in port, Syd has decided to leave the crew for pastures new; we’ll miss him. So we are looking for a replacement, you could come voluntarily or we will press you. If you’re looking for adventure, a sex, drugs and rock and roll lifestyle, look elsewhere! If you have a fancy to go shanty singing get in touch.
After a safe return from a trip up the coast to Teignmouth for their very successful first shanty festival, we’re just about to let go the lines as we’re outward bound again this time heading east to the wilds of Essex, we’re off to discharge music and mirth and maybe load the odd tankard of ale in Harwich, we’re at their annual shanty festival so come and pay a visit you won’t be disappointed 🎶👍🎶👍🎶✅
Off to a good start to 2018 with the first of this year’s Crabshell Concerts on the 25th January, the diary is filling up with several festivals and gigs already booked and several more in the pipeline. Watch this space. Privateer.
